As September comes to a close, we’re watching our students begin to settle into their school-year rhythm. For some families, this is the very first time in care, and for others it’s a return after the summer break. Either way, it’s a big transition.

We know mornings can still feel teary or rushed and that drop-offs can tug at parents’ hearts too. You’re not alone. All of us at LE3 are here to help you and your child feel supported and calm.

Gentle Tips for Smoother Drop-Offs

  • Create a short and consistent goodbye ritual. A hug, a kiss, or a special phrase (“See you after snack!”) gives children a predictable cue and helps them start their day.

  • Try to arrive calmly and around the same time each day. When parents are relaxed and on a steady schedule, children often mirror that energy.

  • Talk about the day ahead. Mention a favorite activity, teacher, or friend they’ll see. Anticipation can make separation easier.

  • Send a comfort item. A small blanket, family photo, or stuffed toy can reassure younger children.

  • Keep the conversation going with us. Let us know if the mornings have been hard. We can meet your child at the door, offer extra snuggles, or try other strategies together.

Why Daycare Helps Little Ones Grow

Daycare is more than just a place to spend the day. It’s a space where little ones build independence, social skills, and confidence. Children learn to share, solve problems, express their needs, and try new things. They’re also exposed to new sensory experiences, language, and routines that support healthy development.

Helping the School Year Run More Smoothly

  • Plan ahead. Lay out clothes, pack bags, and prep lunches the night before so

    mornings feel calmer for everyone.

  • Establish predictable routines at home. Consistent wake-ups, bedtimes, and mealtimes help kids feel secure and rested.

  • Celebrate small wins. Praise your child for brave drop-offs or trying something new at school.

Staying Healthy This Season

Fall can bring more colds and sniffles. At LE3 we’re extra vigilant with hand-washing, toy cleaning, and wellness checks. You can help by keeping children home if they’re ill, encouraging hand-washing and tissue use at home, and sending a labeled water bottle so they can stay hydrated. Together we can keep our classrooms as healthy as possible during this season.

Something Fun to Look Forward To 🎃

Routine doesn’t have to mean boring! Our annual Halloween celebration is just around the corner. We’ll have a FREE Trunk-or-Treat for all from 6–7 PM followed by our BOOlognese Dinner Party from 7-8PM with games, a costume contest, prizes, and more. It’s one of our favorite ways to bring families together, and we’d love to see you there.

We’re Here for You

Transitions can be tough, but your child is learning, growing, and building resilience every day. Thank you for trusting us with your little one. We’re honored to be part of your family’s journey this school year.
