About the Role

The Lead Pre-School Teacher would be required to plan curriculum to implement each week. Lessons will need to be created for each week of the program. The curriculum should focus on but not be limited to:
1. Creating supplemental materials for the children to share with their families.
2. Educating children in a hands-on, active, and motivating way.
3. Work with children, staff, and the director to ensure that the children’s needs are best met during
program hours.
4. Implement age appropriate and individualized curriculum involving various activities to stimulate and
encourage children’s cognitive, emotional, and physical skills, abilities and development.

LE3 preschools are play-based and built to prepare learners for their first year of Kindergarten. Teachers are expected to keep the children’s brains and bodies working all day long.
Above all job duties, keeping the children safe is the most important responsibility of the day. Below is a list of job duties that should be completed every day:
1. Create and maintain a fun and interactive learning experience.
2. Ensure the daily care of every child by following all licensing guidelines and all LE3 standards.
3. Create lessons and following daily routines.
4. Complete daily paperwork for children while following New York State OCFS regulations
5. Develop and maintain positive and professional relationship with parents.

Training Expectations
1. Monthly meeting with the Director. Check-in for an hour monthly with the director to turn in lesson
plans, check-in, and brainstorm new ideas.
2. CPR/First Aide: each employee must obtain these certifications within their first 30 days of
3. OCFS Mandated Reporter, Foundations in Health and Safety training must be completed within first
30 days of work.
4. Attend all mandatory LE3 trainings.


Qualifications: The Lead Pre-School teacher must have:

  1. Experience working in childcare, with children, and/or teaching.

  2. Customer service and/or previous work experiences.

  3. A background/experience with classroom management and curriculum implementation.

  4. An associate degree in Early Childhood, Child Development, or related field: 

  • OR ChildDevelopment Associate credential or other Office-recognized credential specific to the preschool developmental period AND one year experience related to caring for children.

  • OR 9 college credits in Early Childhood, Child Development AND two years’ experience related to caring for children.
